Course summary:

This course will be suitable for teachers who are unsure how to teach the same learning objective to all pupils whist ensuring that all pupils have the opportunity to meet the learning objective. We will explain the difference between adaptive teaching and differentiation and we will provide some practical, tried-and-tested strategies which teachers can quickly and easily apply. We will consider what adaptive teaching might look like at the planning stage as well as during lessons. Colleagues will leave the session with some strategies which they can apply immediately to support their pupils.

This interactive course is suitable for teachers or senior leaders. It will clarify what we mean by adaptive learning and how this differs from more traditional interpretations of differentiation. We will discuss quick and efficient strategies which can be used in the classroom as well as the occasional circumstances when adaptive learning strategies may not support pupil progress. Teachers will have opportunities to discuss strategies that they might use in classroom and reflect on their own pupils, their barriers, and how to overcome these barriers.
