This is a session for established Chairs of Governors only and explores/refreshes the expectations of the role, setting the vision, ethos and strategic direction, and how to organise ourselves and our workload effectively.

We will be exploring/reminding ourselves of:

The responsibilities of the Chair
The 3 core functions of the governing body
How the vision, ethos and strategic direction is set
How to plan the workload of the board effectively and ensure its ongoing development
How to use governors to best effect
To provide an opportunity to share good practice and discuss issues raised by any attending Chair (notified to the tutor by email in advance of the session).

This session is part of the Governor Training Subscription. If you have an active subscription there is no charge for attendance.
