Course summary:

This course, which covers key aspects of subject leadership, is an excellent introduction for teachers who have recently taken on a middle/subject leadership role for the first time.

During this course we will explore the key elements required in order to be an effective subject leader. This will include:

Being a subject leader - what does it entail?
Knowing your subject and how it is taught in your school
Identifying strengths and weaknesses
Writing a development plan
Your monitoring role
Lesson observations
Work scrutiny
Gathering and analysing data
Supporting colleagues
Managing resources

Delegates will be provided with a range of practical ideas to support them in carrying out their role effectively.
