Course summary:

This course focusses on planning the curriculum in order to ensure a clear progression in knowledge and skills across foundation subjects.

Ensuring that pupils have access to a well planned, sequential curriculum in all subject areas will put them on the path to knowing and remembering more. This is an aspect of primary schools which is frequently the focus of Ofsted inspections.

Using a range of curriculum examples we will consider how to ensure that, in all foundation subjects, the knowledge and skills taught are well planned with a clear and sequential path to learning. We will consider how to build on prior learning and use assessment to identify gaps in learning and monitor progress and outcomes.
