This training session will provide an overview of the key recruitment steps for staff who will be overseeing/administering this process. In addition, it will give details of all the pre-employment checks that must be completed to ensure safer recruitment practices are adhered to.

This course has been designed to consolidate and update the knowledge of HR staff or administrators with responsibility for HR and provide them with increased confidence in the recruitment process and administering these important vetting checks.

The session will focus on:

  • The recruitment process including advertising, shortlisting and interviews
  • Selecting the best candidate and making conditional offers; and
  • Ensuring all the appropriate pre-employment checks are completed in line with Safer Recruitment requirements.

At the end of the briefing delegates will:

  • Understand the recruitment process and how it operates in practice
  • Know how to administer each stage;
  • Understand the range of pre-employment checks that must be completed and how to administer these; and
  • Be aware of the resources and support available.
